Tiberius (14–37 CE), silver tetradrachm. OBV: laureate head of Tiberius to right; TIBERIOΣ ΣEBAΣTOIΣ KAIΣAP. REV: radiate head of Augustus to right; ΘEOΣ ΣEBAΣTOIΣ KAIΣAP. MINT: Antioch. DATE: uncertain, but perhaps 28 CE. This is one of the finest examples of this coin, of which there are only about a dozen known. A strong case can be made that this was the kind of coin described in the famous “Tribute to Caesar” episode in Mark 12:13–17 (// Matt 22:15–22 & Luke 20:20–26). See the discussion in Peter E. Lewis,The Denarius in Mark 12.15
